Description
Hand-carved seal figurine, dark green natural soapstone with black dots. Minimalist style, however detailed enough to display as a feature item on a desktop. Carved from one solid piece of stone that is pinned and stone epoxy glued to a white ice imitation alabaster the base. It’s a brand new mini sculpture, with no chips or cracks on it. Polished with standard water base sandpapers to a shiny surface, sealed and buffed with natural nontoxic bee wax. Signed and dated by SaGa, Canadian stone carver.
5.5″ x 3.5″ x 3.5″ 14 x 9 x 9 cm. 0.672 kg.
I can personalize it by carving or engraving a name, logo, or a short message to base, for free of charge.
My favorite medium is the soapstone, especially the Brazilian origin that I acquire from a local supplier. These stones are inspected and selected for quality and chemical composition and don’t contain asbestos or any harmful elements. The variety of colors depends on where the stone has been mined but most often dark green just like this seal figurine, and brown are available. Soapstone is a relatively soft stone 2-2.5 on a hardness scale of 1-10. Easily carvable with basic hand tools such as rasps and files. To polish it, I use standard sandpapers that are waterproof and used in auto body shops and do it in submerged water.

Had this piece commissioned to remind us of our wedding day on whistler and it is superb quality and a very fair price. I wouldn’t hesitate to order something else or recommend to a friend.
