Jasper is a remarkable creation of mother nature. Found almost everywhere on earth in various colors and patterns. The composition of the stone depends on the original mineral sediments and the silica-rich ash that makes it dense. Sometimes quartz is visible and most of the time the red and brown shows the presence of iron. As far as the identification or the name of the specimens derive, it’s usually by the place where it was found, the color, and when the pattern resembles some kind of motif. Jasper wasn’t considered a gemstone for a long time, it was only in the last century that jewelry making was reborn by modern diamond tools and technology allowing us to rediscover the art of stones. It doesn’t matter what jasper specimen we chose to polish for jewelry or an ornamental piece. The outcome never fails to mesmerize.
Picture jasper doesn’t have a specific place where it was found or mined. We can call almost every specimen if it has a landscape or image-like pattern.
