Description

Original greenstone carving, of a minimalist abstract style small soapstone sculpture. It’s a new never been displayed hand carved and hand-polished recently finished piece. Signed and dated by me, Gabriella. The soapstone is a natural Brazilian origin light green stringy base color soft carving material. There’s a dark black inclusion too, which is the nature of soapstone. The base stone is black and white marble, similar to zebra marble except for the lines rather wavy than straits. cut to a round shape and polished on top and side. The greenstone carving was pinned and two pieces of stones epoxy glued together. See a 360 video here.

Soapstone is a kind of soft and dry stone. Once displayed not require much maintenance, however, a few drops of olive oil and a soft cloth buff from time to time keeps it fresh, shiny, and new looking. The marble base is hard and stays like that forever, no care is needed at all.

Other carvings from the same stone are also available, please visit the sculptures category in the store to see them.

Soapstone and alabaster raw carving stones are usually in stock. Your original idea or custom carving request is always welcome.

Thank you, Gabriella and Peter! This piece is absolutely gorgeous and is everything I hoped it would be, and then some! It was so well packaged and made the trek across the country with no issues whatsoever. It was a pleasure to deal with Sagastone, and if I’m in the market for another piece like this, I won’t hesitate to order from you again!
