This brand new gray marble abstract sculpture carved from a Vancouver island origin stone specimen. Self collected natural stone from Kennedy hill, with black veins and a touch of yellow in the it too. Titled it Disengagement, represent the new generation tearing away. Carved with traditional hand tools, bright polished to 3000 grit smoothness. The separation left raw. It stands on a 3.5″ x 3.5″ matching base. Signed and dated. The sculpture is pinned and stone epoxy glued to the base.

I love to use stones for my carvings, what one way or the other connected to my home. This beautiful marble is basically free to take, however nice pieces hard to find. Lucky me, at the last visit a road construction required blasting a huge part of the hillside away, and huge boulders of fresh marble came to the surface.
