I love to use stones for my carvings, which one way or the other connected to my home. This beautiful marble is free to take, however nice pieces are hard to find. Lucky me, on the last visit a road construction required blasting a huge part of the hillside away, and large boulders of fresh marble came to the surface.
This gray marble abstract sculpture is a fantasy design. With the raw chiseled part, I intended to enhance the effect of the separation, make it look like the stone was torn into two and still, a connection remains. This marble took a brilliant shine at polishing.
